• The Standard Turbochargers equipped to Nissan GT-R (EDM and JDM) are IHI VN5 turbos, and have very small turbine and compressor wheels. To achieve 750HP, CPR will replace the original CHRA with RHF5HB ball bearing CHRA’s along with Larger Compressor & Turbine Wheels, with both the Original Compressor and Turbine Housings being CNC machined to accept the larger sized wheels. To be able to fit the larger CHRA’s to the standard Turbine Housings, a bespoke heat shield arrangement has been designed and manufactured from Billet Stainless Steel. This ensures the Turbine Inducer blades are correctly positioned in the path of the exhaust gas as it flows through the turbine housing powering the turbine wheel efficiently. The Turbine Exducer Blades are then machined with a 5 degree cutback, to allow for greater exhaust gas flow capacity, still housed in the original Turbine Housing/Exhaust Manifold. The wastegate valves are also ported to achieve greater boost control and stop boost creep from the increase in gas flow through the turbine housings. The exhaust manifold headers are also ported on the inlets to match the exhaust ports in the block to maximize efficiency.
