CPR MITSUBISHI EVO 5 CIRCUIT CAR - 980BHP/830LBFT - 2010

CPR's finest example of world class level workmanship and engineering is the '99 Mitsubishi Evo 5, owned by Bob Moore. This amazing Evo has been developed for championship winning circuit racing, a process which has taken over 6 years of development of the entire car. This car was the 2010 Time Attack Pro-Class Championship Winning Car, undisputed quickest Evo around a race track across Europe as proven in European Time Attack Events, capable of 9.3second 1/4 miles in circuit trim and truly one of the greatest Evo's ever built. Featuring truly groundbreaking chassis design, with bespoke tubular subframes and suspension arms, with turreted rear suspension to lower the vehicle height, rear mounted coolant system, Active Centre Differential conversion, and weighing in just under 1100kg's, the Orange CPR Evo truly is one of the best Lancer Evolutions ever created. Built entirely by CPR/Ex-RC Dev's team in Warrington, Cheshire.

CPR MITSUBISHI EVO 6 CIRCUIT CAR - 850BHP+ - 2007

The infamous Yellow Evo 6 was previously owned by Clive Seddon, and was built by himself and the RC Developments team, where it was introduced at the 2007 Autosport Show on the Time Attack stand, she was then entered later thatyear in UK Time Attack Series in 2007 where it was consistenly a top 3 finishing Pro-Class car. The car was invited to compete in the 2007 Revspeed Tsukuba Super Lap Challenge in Japan, where it finished 4th quickest Evo in the challenge. A trip to Athens for the ATS - Athens Tuning Show gave European crowds the chance to see the car in the flesh. 2008 saw massive leaps in development for the car, with improvements in response from CPR's new approach to turbocharger and camshaft setup. 2009 saw the car purchased by James Nicholls, who entered it privately (with the support of the CPR team) into the 2009 and 2010 Season, where he won the Club/Pro Championship in 2009, and then 3rd Overall in the 2010 Pro-Class Championship. An exceptional legendary car built by the CPR / ex-RC Developments team, featuring groundbreaking engine and chassis design, the first circuit Evo to succesfully run a rear mounted coolant radiator and Active Centre Differential (in CP9A Chassis).

RC Developments MITSUBISHI EVO 6 CIRCUIT CAR - "Bessie" - 930BHP - 2003

The original huge-power British built Mitsubishi Evo, built by CPR's technicians (at RC Developments), was nicknamed 'Bessie', as she was an old tough girl who never stopped beating the crap out of the opposition! Bessie's life started in late 2002, where she underwent a conversion from a 400bhp low mileage Evo 6 road car into a road legal 900hp+ track car. The car featured the very first 2.4L Stroker Engine, designed entirely by RC Developments, manufactured by Crower in USA, supported with a Greddy T88 Turbocharger Kit. Bessie was also the first Mitsubishi Evo in Europe to run a Dry Sump Kit, with the very first version of the Pace Products 4 Stage Dry Sump Kit, where RC Developments helped to develop the kit with Pace Products. 7 years later, most track day racers are arriving quick to the knowledge of how important a Dry Sump System is, we discovered this a long time and since then, all of our serious circuit cars have had a Dry Sump System installed. The car originally ran on Methanol, and produced a staggering 707.3 wheel horsepower (930bhp / 673lbft est flywheel) back in April 2004! The car was entered into the first GT Battle in 2005, which would later become the Time Attack series in 2006, where Clive Seddon piloted her to 3 x 1st place wins over 5 rounds (1st Silverstone x 2 and 1st in the Finals at Donnington), to claim 2nd place Overall in the Championship. The car was entered briefly into the 2007 season, where it was then replaced by the new Yellow Evo 6 from Clive Seddon, which saw an even bigger leap in technology. Some other memorable experiences with Bessie, included driving the car to the Nurburgring, then onto Spa in Belgium, and then all the way back to Warrington in around 58 hours! Bessie was also driven to the Nurburgring later on that year, in what was described as " The Lost Weekend" which involved over 24 continious laps of the Nurburgring, and a 7 minute long 190mph sprint back on the Autobahn vs. Bob Moore's 2.8L Stroker R34 GTR! Bessie was eventually retired from racing, before it was revived recently, changed hands and is now owned by SRC Racing, who currently run it in the 2011 Time Attack Series.
An amazing car from an amazing era.

Andy Robinson MITSUBISHI EVO 8 DRAG CAR - 1094BHP - 2011

A gargantuan Evo capable of 8 second 1/4's, Andy Robinson's Drag Evo 8 started life off in South California, where drag racer Dan Bajalis developed the car with the help of a few US Tuners. Dan fell into some financial issues, and the car came up for sale. Andy Robinson, one of RC/CPR's closest customer had heaps of experience in FWD Rover Drag Racing, had owned one of the quickest FWD Rovers in the country for many, many years, winning TOTB in the FWD Class Drag Shootout and Top Speed in 2 consecutive years. Andy had been on the hunt for a high spec drag car, and headed out to the States after getting in touch with Dan, who needed the car to go onto someone who knew what they were doing with it, and a bit of TLC. 9 months later, Andy pulled up to CPR with his new toy, and our first task was to completely convert the car from Left Hand Drive, over to Right Hand Drive, a task involving swapping out many O.E Chassis Components, and a new Tilton Pedal Box. A lot of tidying was performed, improving the reliability of the car, before CPR's Andy Clark improved on the map which would hardly allow the car to idle let alone put out any power. 2 days later, the car was singing at full power, smashing a new British record for highest proven Dyno based power run. Recently featured on a German Motoring TV Show, Andy's Drag Evo 8 is due to put some serious times down, and is currently awaiting a new sequential dog gear box, that should see it posting high 8.0s passes within the next few months.

CPR - WIDEBODY MITSUBISHI EVO 8 CIRCUIT CAR - 760BHP/650LBFT - 2010

One of the first competition cars produced at Car Planet Racing in Cheshire, was the APR Evil-R Wide Bodied Evo 8, finished in Porsche RS Green. This no-holds-barred Evo 8 was spec'd with the highest quality of components, and prepared for the top tier of racing in the UK Time Attack Series. Featuring a CPR built 4G64 2.4L Engine with Race Ported Cylinder Head, a huge spec fuel system run on E85 Race Gas, and a special hybrid GT40:102R, the powerplant effortlessly produced 760bhp, sent through a Drenth 5 Speed Dogbox and Ikeya Formula Sequential Shifter. An RS Rear Diff, T45 Cage, and a lot of weight reduction saw the poised for battle, and the new owner of the car, Gary Rothwell, took every opportunity of exploiting the car's potential, entering it into the 2010 Time Attack Championship in Club-Pro Class. Gary still uses the car to this day in his Stunt Shows, and can be seen across Europe drifting and donuting the car gymkhana style, prooving its strength and ability in the right hands!

Jon Forsythe - Evo 6 TME - 738BHP/455LBFT - 2006

One of the first truly high spec road Evo's that CPR's (Ex-RC) Clive Seddon and Andy Clark built, was owned by Jon Forsythe. Jon's Evo 6 TME was purchased brand new in 2003, where it quickly began getting fettled with by the Warrington tuner. Jon and RC were pioneers into big HP conversions, and the car underwent 2.4L Stroker Engine conversion (as developed in Bessie), with a custom Greddy T88 Turbo Kit. The end result was an astonishing 560.8hp at the wheels (738bhp 455lbft est at the flywheel), an amazing result for a 100% road legal car, back in late 2006.

Kev Hemsley - Evo 6 - 848BHP/548LBFT - 2008

One of proudest memories of performance road tuning, was the journey of Kev Hemsley's Evo 6. Kev worked closely with RC for a period of 4 years up until 2008, developing his phenomenal 100% road going Evo 6 into an incredible monster, which still to this day, gives CPR's staff goosebumps over how quick it was, where until RC bought a Dyno, all ECU mapping was carried out on the public road! Kev's unassuming looking road legal car incorporated a full RC 2.4L race engine and Drenth transmission (on par with our Time Attack cars), nestled cleanly into a 100% stock looking scotia white shell. Kev recently said goodbye to his Evo, and all agreed that there could never be a crazier road Evo than Kev's. 3 years on, Kev's Evo 6 is still number 2 in the MLR Most Modified Hall of Fame.

Shane Knowles - Evo 6 - 750BHP+ - 2008

What do you get when someone comes along with an open cheque book and a brief that he wants the quickest road legal Evo, rebuilt from the ground up with every new component, nut and bolt, with the potential to win every Modified Car Event it goes to? The answer is Shane Knowle's Porsche Riveria Blue Evo 6 RS! Shane's car was one of the most beautiful Evo Road cars that RC ever had the pleasure of commisioning. Built from a brand new bare shell, Shane's 'Big Blue' was built from the ground up in only 14 days! This insanely tight work deadline could have only been achieved by CPR's Clive and Andy (formally of RC Developments). The car was completely restored, finished in Porsche Riveria Blue, 3M Underseal, and every component straight from our Time Attack Racing Programme Parts List; RC 2.4L Stroker Motor, RC GT4094R Top Mount Turbo Kit, Holinger Sequential Dog Box, AEM EMS and Exedy Triple Plate Carbon Clutch. The exterior was truly breathtaking, with Monster Sport/C-West Carbon Aero, it stood proud next to the Orange and Yellow Evo's as the 3rd beautiful sister in a trio of outstanding performance engineering. One of our finest moments was completing Shane's Big Blue only hours before he collected the car, and drove to Le-Mans, South France that same night, somehow getting there in only 4 hours!

Nick Holland - Evo 6 TME - 690BHP - 2008

Nick Holland's mint Tommi Mak received the RC Dev's treatment in 2007-2008 where after receiving the RC-500 Package, GT35R on RC Turbo Kit and a dose of Race Fuel, produced 690bhp, all from a 2.0L, making it one of the highest outputs from a 2.0L that had ever been achieved in a road car. Nick still uses the car to this day for occasional weekend blast, but more so for track days, so if you ever see a silver TME with white Rota's behind you at Oulton Park, you are well advised to pull over pretty quick, as Nick's Tommi is one bad 'Bishi!

Peter Cook - Evo 9 Circuit Car - 430BHP - 2011

Peter Cook of Pro-Plumb brought his 100% road going Evo 9 to us at the tail end of 2010, with the ambition to convert his Evo 9 into an all-out track day weapon. Peter wanted to develop the car's chassis first, and learn to drive the car first, before upping the power and opting for a competition powerplant from CPR. We stripped the car to within an inch of it's life and begun the build up process. The car received a T45 FIA Welded Cage, and a plethora of racing parts, where the car went on a diet, dropping over 200kg's! Peter's car retained a moderate power output of 430bhp with some gentle persuasion, but with a new lower/rearward driving position, a Tilton Pedal Box, and massive weight reduction, driving the recreated car was a steep learning curve for Peter, who quickly conquered the car, and we are hoping to complete the project soon with 650bhp+ Competition Engine. Stay tuned for more updates on this awesome track toy!

Miles Dewhurst - BMW M3 E92 Circuit Car - 445BHP - 2011

An exciting opportunity and new era for CPR came to light when Holiday Park owner Miles Dewhurst commissioned a fantastic project for his BMW M3 E92, where the brief was to remove as much weight from the car, and prepare it for weekly track day racing, as Miles' new track day weapon. Miles had swapped his Porsche 997 GT3 RS for the BMW, where the depreciation of the Porsche was ludicrous, and a very close moment whilst pushing at the Nurburgring meant that a relatively cheaper platform was sought. You can't buy much better of a chassis than the M3 E92, and soon after the initial conversation between Miles and CPR's Laurence Stewart about "What could we do to an M3?", Miles arrived with a new, bone stock M3 ready for us to play with. Out went the entire interior, body loom and over 100kg's of excessive weight in wiring, CAN BUS modules (16 of them) and trim. We seperated the engine loom from the body loom, and junked the original ECU (which controlled every last function on the car from the VANOS Control, through to the Window Switch). Along came a $10000 standalone Pectel SQ6 ECU and modified Engine loom in its a place, along with an obscenely lightweight Akrapovic Evolution Titanium Exhaust System, 18 x 10 and 11J TE37SL Rims with Kumho V70 Track day tyres and some top of the range Motorsport / Track Day designed products. Miles' new driving position is around 12" further back and lower from the stock driving position, with a cockpit is surrounded by a lightweight T45 Cage, carbon fibre OMP steering wheel, and AIM Pista Electronic Dash to glance at, just after he's clipped the perfect apex at any one of the numerous European circuits that he has booked track days at. Miles' ambition is a track day every weekend, he is living the dream and his M3 is THE perfect drivers car, now stripped down and sharpened like a hunting knife, ready for carving up anything that gets in his way!

Karl Jackson - MITSUBISHI EVO 9 TWIN TURBO HILL CLIMB CAR - 650BHP/600LBFT - 2009

Karl Jackson's Evo 9 was the World's first succesful Twin Turbo Evo 9 ever built, where research and development begun from a very early concept from CPR's Clive Seddon, to seek out a huge power output, without the usual drawbacks of turbo lag. Karl Jackson first contacted Clive at RC over 4 years ago, in regards to building a formidable hill climb/sprint car. Karl asked Clive which platform he would choose to start the project on, and what would he do to the car to get it competitive. 3 weeks later, completely out of the blue, Karl arrived at RC with a brand new delivery mileage Mitsubishi Evo 9 RS! Clive and the team at RC were amazed that Karl had gone through on his word and was now ready to pull apart a perfectly good, brand spanking new white RS. Out came the engine, and in went an RC-500 Conversion with RC Stroker 2.4L Engine which saw Karl winning the Harewood Hill Hillclimb Championship in 4WD Class in his debut season. The concept for the twin turbo setup was still brewing in Clive's mind, and during the 2008 Season, Clive began to develop the first kit, on CPR's Demo Evo 9, which was based on a 2.0L Engine, and when Karl came to Clive at the tail end of the 08 Season, with the quest of having the ultimate hill climb machine, Clive and CPR implemented the series 2 Twin Turbo Kit, onto Karl's 2.4L platform, which featured carefully re-designed turbochargers to accomodate the higher consumption of air. The final result was a 650bhp car with full 2.0bar boost pressure achieved at 3800RPM, around 1200RPM sooner than an equivalent 2.4L T4 Single Turbo'd Mitsubishi Evo. This insanely responsive setup lead Karl Jackson on to win the Harwood Hill Climb Championship for a futher 2 years, with unbeatable acceleration and corner exit speed, it was an unmatchable weapon up a hill. Karl recently retired the car and bought an Aerial Atom to continue his dominance at Harewood, entering into a different class after achieving everything with his Evo 9. We wish Karl all the best with his racing career, and thank him for the opportunity to build such a legendary, world first car, which truly was a succesful engineering feat, designed and developed and refined entirely by CPR's technicians.

Liam Lawrence - NISSAN GT-R R35 - 700BHP - 2009

Football followers will undoubted recognise the name of CPR's first ever customer for the CPR-700 Stage 5 Conversion for the R35 GTR, Liam bought his 2009 Silver R35 GTR to us at the end of 2009 for a conversion that would blow his mind, and something that would pull past any of his team mate's (Stoke City at the time) cars. Liam had already received a Stage 4 Conversion, but craved more power. Liam's car was the first GT-R here in the GT-R to break the 700bhp barrier, and following on from weeks of development on the dyno and on the road, the car was a huge success, offering effortless and smooth acceleration. CPR carried out various transmission upgrades, including front and rear circlip retainer upgrades, uprated clutch plates and clutch housing/baskets, resulting in a lightning quick transmission to support the new powerplant. Liam could not believe how quick his GT-R had become, and heralded the beginning of a new era of performance tuning, 700hp+ daily driving monster GT-R's, with enough manners to get you and the wife to the restaurant with ease and comfort, with the ability to easily demonlish anything on the road including 1000cc tuned sports bikes. Anything that is, other than a CPR-700+ GTR!

CPR Kleemann CLS-55 AMG - 620BHP - 2009

When CPR M.D. Max Waung purchased his 2005 Mercedes CLS-55 AMG, all at CPR knew it would not stay stock for a very long time at all, in fact, it was standard for about 12 hours before it was on CPR's ramp having the entire Kleemann parts catalogue thrown at it! An uprated chargecooling system was introduced first of all, as the project entailed huge supercharger output, and given our research into Kompressor AMG's, we knew the chargecooling system would need to be working as efficiently as possible. We designed an uprated chargecooler radiator, that nestled neatly in the front bumper area, with the circulation of the coolant being massively uprated with a Davies Craig high output electric water pump. We ran the original chargecooler radiator in tandem, mounting it at the back of the car for further improved cooling of the superchager. The final upgrade was running a 80L coolant tank in the boot, which would provide more coolant to the system, allowing more heat to be dissipated from the supercharger during hard operation and high speed motorway racing, something Max is infamous for! We uprated the car further more with our own handbuilt centre section, de-cat and modified Kleemann Headers, a Supercharger Pulley Upgrade saw a massively increased boost level, with the final ECU Map being Kleemann's most aggressive map for the car, the K4 Tune. The end result was 620bhp/650lbft of German Muscle, at which Max entered the car into the 2009 T.O.T.B Challenge, and was one of the quickest Rear Wheel Drive car's at the event. Max eventually sold his CLS-55 after reaching the pinnacle of tuning with the car, and moved onto another project car to develop. Our lasting impression of the mighty 55K Motor is one we will always love, such a fantastic sounding car, that would try and kill you everytime you put your down! These are the car's we love to build!

Riffa Khan - NISSAN PULSAR GTi-R - 611BHP - 2007

Another incredible car, and still to this day undefeated in its engineering merit, is Riffa Khan's Nissan Pulsar GTiR, which started life at RC Developments, finally completed by CPR. Riffa's Pulsar is a legend, especially from his native town of Birmingham, due to its incredible specification, that still to this day, is unmatched. CPR's engineers constructed the engine based on a 2.0L Fully Forged Motor with stock liners and stock crankshaft, supported by a GT4088R Turbocharger, Big Valve Race Ported Cylinder Head, and bespoke Apexi Drag Intercooler Core. CPR/RC Developments were the first tuner in the world to run AEM EMS Standalone ECU on the Nissan Pulsar, with a reworked cam position referencing system, and as proven from the dyno results, was a great success in engine control. Riffa's Pulsar GTiR's finest hour was beating every other Pulsar at CPR's GTiR Owners Club Dyno Shootout in 2008, including Jason Gant's DP Motorsport built GTiR. We ran Riffa's on pump fuel, DP ran theirs on race fuel, and we still beat them by 100 wheel horsepower! Riffa sold the car before he got the chance to seriously test it at the drag strip, he tried to drive it as a road car, but quickly phoned up the next day after collecting it from CPR, saying it was totally unuseable for the road, it was just far too quick and feared it would kill him if he ever tried it again! Hopefully the new owners of the car will get the opportunity to put some tickets on the car at Santa Pod.

Clive Seddon - RENAULT 5 GT TURBO COSWORTH MID ENGINE - 1999

Even years before 'RC Developments' and 'Car Planet Racing' were a twinkle in his eye, Clive Seddon was utilising his engineering mind to build insane cars, we felt his Mid-Engine'd Cosworth Renault 5 GT Turbo was worthy of inclusion into our Hall of Fame. This incredible car was never quite finished by Clive, but is still highly regarded as an incredible idea, which Clive completed in regards to the chassis. Featuring a bespoke space frame rear end, Renault 21 Rear mounted gearbox and a 400bhp spec Ford Sierra Cosworth built 2.0L with T3 Turbocharger mounted just behind the driver's seat, this car had the potential to be a true super car slayer. Clive's early involvement with bespoke rear chassis design would later reappear in the RC Developments Yellow Mitsubishi Evo 6 which took Evo tuning to a new level.
